Hey guys,
I can't believe this year is already over, so much happened and I visited so many places wow!
I just wanted to talk a bit about my highlights of 2016 so here we go:
At the beginning of the year my family and I went to Hamburg where we saw the Musical “The Lion King”, it was amazing!
In March I turned 16 which means I can now legally drink, well at least in Germany :D
Over Spring Break I went to Austria to go skiing and I spent one week kind of working at a hospital which was super cool. Also in April I found out who my host family is and since then I couldn’t wait to come here!
I did so many cool things with my best friend Rebecca, in June we went to a Marc Forster concert, I will never forget this evening.
In July I got my high school diploma and was pretty glad to be done with school.
I also visited my family in Bremen and spent a day at the North Sea.
In August I had my goodbye party and then my adventure began. I spent a couple days in New York, had my first days at my High School here in South Carolina and loved to go to the Football games. I became part of the Cheer Team and had my American Homecoming in September.
In October I had lots of competitions as well as Halloween. Since November we traveled a lot: Minnesota, Thanksgiving in Arizona, Iowa and again Christmas in Arizona. On Saturday I went skiing with my host family which was the perfect ending for this year. I am so thankful for the traveling I could do and the new people in my life!
Although so many great things happened to me, of course, there were also things that were not that good. To be honest 2016 was the year with the biggest gap to me because it went from the worst to the best. That’s why I want to tell you to never give up, focus on the good things and your real friends and it will get better.
I hope you have a great New Years and I wish all of you a happy new year!
And by the way, my company AYA has their own blog and they asked me if they can publish my “100 Days USA” blog post there and they also wrote something about my host family as a Christmas present if you would like to read it just click here.
